Since December 2025, I have been stranded in Kigali (Rwanda) after Air Canada misplaced my mobility aid — my walker, essential to my travels.
Without this equipment, it is impossible for me to travel safely back home to Canada, where my 10-year-old son is waiting for me.
But this situation goes beyond my personal case.
It raises a fundamental question:
How can an airline lose essential equipment for a passenger with reduced mobility and leave them without a solution for months?
Mobility is not a luxury. Dignity is not a privilege.
Mobility is a right.
Today, I call for solidarity from all:
- community leaders
- rights organizations
- people with reduced mobility
- journalists
- engaged citizens
